berry nice to meet you!

hey!

Today's breakfast was one of my yummiest frozen smoothies yet, sweet as any naughty treat but completely guilt free et good for you!

Wanna know what's in it? Take a look below!

*No brainer but remember to freeze all your fruit first*

If you prefer them to be fresh to frozen then follow the same steps just minus the freezing.

Add strawberries et peaches...

...Then some watermelon, et banana to make it a little creamy...

et to finish the fruit, blueberries!

Then add three spoons of yoghurt - I went for Lime et lemon soya yoghurt but this can be anything you like i.e coconut, greek style, plain yoghurt.

Top it off with some coconut milk to dilute it - otherwise this turns into a Nice cream! - et whizz it up.

Tasty, a pretty colour et guilt free!

Ciao! xx.

the bear necessities

Hello :)

This is my fruit bowl. Not much fruit in there you say? Well that's because most of my fruit is chopped up in the freezer. No instead I use this bowl to keep my three favourite things safe et in plain view.

They are my bear necessities *cue jungle book dancin'* The three pilgrims which I use everyday.

  • Coco noir - because it smells so great on my skin et doesn't need justification.
  • Avocados - because they're the best thing you could eat for flavour et nutritional benefits.
  • Craig x Karl for Le Specs 'Lost Weekend' - because they're big, pink, et fabulous.

My weekly shop...

Hey everyone!

Someone asked me what I have in my weekly shopping basket, so I thought I would write a post on it :)
Today I went to Wholefoods to buy some things (I wish I could do all my shopping there, their Veg section is tear jerkingly beautiful!)

Although I didn't do my entire shop there (too poor! *cries forever*) I picked up some things I like to have in the cupboard at all times.

Here they are!

Seed & Bean chocolate bars are organic and handmade in England. They make really unusual flavours like Mandarin and Ginger or Pumpkin and Hemp.
All thier dark chocolates are Vegan friendly, I bought the Lavender dark chocolate et Mint flavours. The Lavender is such a perfect match to the 72% cacao. Et mint? well, that's just a classic, isn't it?

Ms. Cupcake is one of the first Vegan friendly bakeries in the country. I LOVE their cupcakes, everytime I go in to Wholefoods, I can't resist the temptation to quickly put one in my basket.
My favourite is Chocolate or Black Forest Berry Chocolate Swirl (sounds amazing, non?) but I wanted to try something different this week so I chose Choc Peanut Butter et Banana Choc Chip.

I can't wait to try them!

I don't eat much bread as gluten free vegan bread is hard to come by, but when I do, I usually use coconut oil as a butter alternative. I found this in the fridges at Wholefoods et it's so yummy! Not too salty et the coconut isn't too overpowering, just right. WANRING! Make sure you refrigerate this immediately as it will melt et the coconut oil et soya butter will separate.

This. Is. My Favourite. Drink. Ever. I use KoKo plain coconut milk as my main dairy alternative, but their chocolate milk is the best! Whoever wanted to drink cows chocolate milk when you can drink Coconut chocolate milk>!>>????
All of the food I make is for anyone who wants to give a go at trying something new, not just Vegans. But if you do drink animals milk, et love your chocolate milk, I would seriously advise you to give this a go...its TONS better for you et tastes amazing! Trust me!

I have a weakness, et that weakness is Peanut Butter et Jam sandwiches.
I tried Goober recently for the first time since I was little et my grown up tastebuds were not convinced. The jam wasn't...jammy enough?! It tasted closer to just flavoured sugar than strawberries. (I get wickedly picky when it comes to P&J sandwiches)
So I decided to buy myself some fancy jam. et here it is: Mercers Strawberry Jam, organically grown et made in Yorkshire.

I use coconut oil in everything! When I say everything, I mean everything. Here's where I use it:
My hair
my skin
a face mask
a hair mask
in all my cooking
for salads instead of olive oil
in baking

...yep, everywhere! I like the Vita coco oil, but there are so many to choose from now that it's fun to get a different brand each time. This big 500g jar will last me around 2-3 months.

Sometimes I come home quite late from a photoshoot et don't have the energy to prepare any food, so these Gluten free burritos are  perfect to shove in the oven et eat. I like them because they're not too big. No need for takeout anymore!

In addition to the above, I buy ALOT of vegetable et fruit:
Watermelon
Strawberries
Blueberries
Cherries
Bananas
(all for freezing)
Then for fresh food:
Carrots
Kale
Spinach
Courgette
Avocado (I eat one avocado daily)
Sweet potato
Mushrooms
Spring onion.

I like to be as seasonal as possible with vegetables although it's difficult when the supermarkets in england have no seasonal produce...:/

Thanks for reading, I hope you like it, ciao! xx.

Detox smoothie for the soul

Hello :)

This weekend I had me quite the food party.
Food parties = food babies.

I've been feeling heavy ever since Saturday so I decided to have a cleanse of my body et mind with some restful yoga et a clean green detox smoothie.

Detoxing - when done properly - is a great thing to do. Just like our hair, or our skin, our insides need a good cleaning from time to time too. If you're feeling brave, you can cleanse by consuming only water (2-3 litres a day, but not too much!) et doing very little activity. If that's a bit too hardcore, then cleansing with green vegetable smoothies is a great et effective way to start.

Greens like Kale et Spinach are great for cleaning out our digestive system, that's what makes them so great for a detox smoothie.

Here's what I put in mine:

A BIG bunch of fresh spinach et kale

Some frozen blueberries et bananas et a whole apple

One avocado, three leaves of romaine lettuce et a chunk of cucumber

I also used half a fresh red chilli in there too - but forgot to take a picture (oops!). Chilli is very good for kick starting your metabolism.

Et enjoy!

What are your best detox smoothie recipes? I would love to know!

Ciao, xx.

Legs x Lollies

Heyyyy

This heat has been making my body crave anything et everything colllld. I picked up this all natural sugar free ice lolly in central london the other day...it was a life saver!

I brought it all the way home to Islington to have at home et it still hadn't melted. It was the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon of blogging et bookings.

I've been eating so many ice lollies since to try et keep myself cool, what do you have to keep cool in the heat?

Ciao! xx.

Hiroshi Goto x LeeMcQueen

Hey everyone :)

So I had this shoot I did a couple of weeks ago for designer Hiroshi Goto et design house Alexander McQueen. This was a very exciting photo shoot for me, I've been freelance modelling full time for just over a month now, et even though I've been modelling for the past two years part time, I've only just been able to fully commit myself to this dream I have.
So it was an honour to be asked to be involved in this, after only one month of (very) hard work!

Being a lover of both designers, I knew that whatever the shoot was like, it was going to be amazing.

...et it really was :)

I am in love with this nose ring. My other look (the images are still in post production) had me covered head to toe in gold jewellery. I was rocking the Egyptian Goddess look et the nose ring was the cherry on the cake. Maybe time for a nose ring investment? (not a real one though! ouch!)

I loved the wetlook hair style the MU Team used for Caitlyn et myself. Because my hair is sooooo long the curls kept coming out. But with a strong enough gel they stayed eventually haha.

The vibrant pink make-up really brought out the green in my eyes. Usually, my eyes look very blue, but some days they just completely change colour to green.

Post shoot selfie with model Caitlyn. I had so much fun working with her, et coincidentally we discovered we live only down the road from each other! It'll be fun to meet for coffee soon.

One of the designs by Hiroshi Goto.

Thank you to the stylist for taking these pics of us whilst we were shooting!

What a great team it was. We were filming outside et halfway through shooting it began to monsoon outside! Those platforms become a b*tch to walk in when the grass was super slippery. It didn't matter too much, because come rain or shine, we rocked it ^*^

Ciao!

Too hot to handle...

Hello :)

Wednesday was the hottest day of the year (so far!) et boy oh boy was the heat intense! It felt like everything I put on was too much. Every time I put on a t-shirt I felt like I was putting on my thickest, wooliest, warmest cashmere jumper.
But the heat didn't stop me from my work. Wednesday was a day off for me so I was busy sorting through my room et deciding what to give away to charity. This kind of thing always takes me ages. As I sort out everything, I remember all the moments that are tied to each object...then I daydream...et before I know it it's 17h30!

I wore my vintage Nike shorts et a white trash pink crop that my friend gave me from the wardrobe dept. of a film she worked on :D

This Ikea bag was a lifesaver!!! But there is still soooo much to go through, how did I come to own so many things???!??!?!

Watermelon Baby

Hey everyone!

So here's what I would have on a daily basis for breakfast...

The weather is really hot and humid in London right now, so I've added a Watermelon slushy to my breakfast.

Watermelon is my favourite fruit of all! My favourite time to eat it is in the morning after a workout...its so refreshing, almost as refreshing as water ;)

To make the slushy, cut up et freeze some watermelon. Then add about a pint of water et a (large) cup of frozen watermelon to a blender et whizz it up. You can change the ratio of water/frozen fruit depending on how slushy or diluted you want it.

Thanks for reading! Ciao xx.

Wearing red on Sundays...

Hello!

Typical goof ball Aurora with her mouth full of food :D

On Sunday for our Picnic in Hampstead Heath the weather was finally warm enough to wear one of my vintage summer dresses.

This dress is by Laura Ashley et is a floor length maxi style design.

Working with Make-up artists for work on a daily basis, I'm use to wearing all different types of Make-up for photoshoots, so I make sure never to wear make up in my free time now to give my skin time to breath...it's very important to let your skin breath et rest, as make up such as foundation clogs up your pores so much, especially if used daily.

I love the 3/4 length sleeves of this dress et the 1970's prairie style. Prairie dresses are a simple way of feeling pretty without too much trouble.

The reason why I fell in love with this dress is because of the delicate floral pattern. I love florals, especially in vintage clothes, but many designs are overwhelming or larger floral patterns, which is cool but sometimes I don't want something so big.
This one is different as its beauty is found within its subtlety.

Ciao! xx.
